Dill sauce with meatloaf

Ingredients

  • 3 slices of our roasted meatloaf

  • 2 tablespoons of butter

  • 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour

  • 500 ml of milk

  • 200 ml of broth or water

  • 100 ml of cream

  • 2 tablespoons of vinegar (to taste)

  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

  • salt, pepper

  • a handful of chopped dill (fresh or frozen)

Side:

  • bread dumplings

Dill sauce with meatloaf

Procedure

  1. Sauce: Melt butter and stir in the flour to make a light roux. Gradually add milk and broth, whisking well. Simmer for 10–15 minutes, then add cream, sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper, and dill. Let it cook briefly.

  2. Dumplings: Cook according to package instructions or reheat pre-made ones.

  3. Meatloaf: Slice and reheat in steam, microwave, or briefly in the sauce.

  4. To serve: Place slices of meatloaf and dumplings on a plate and generously pour over the dill sauce.
